... a site for finding and publishing Australian research data

What is it?

  • Research Data Australia is a service for publishing your research data, and for finding data published by others.
  • In fact, what is being published is "collection metadata" rather than the data itself. The collection metadata typically includes either a link for downloading the data (subject to defined licensing terms) or contact details for the data's custodians.

How does it work?

  • Collection metadata can manually (via the RDA website).  These records are vetted for accuracy and quality before they are published.
  • Collection metadata is also harvested from various institutional repositories implemented at various Australian Universities.
